“Message from the President”
CONGRATULATIONS! We made it through the first quarter of 2004. First, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who contributed their time and talent and all who participated in the planned activities. We are still a very young chapter, having just received our charter in July 2003. So, I’m very proud of all that we’ve accomplished. However, we have three quarters remaining and we need EVERYONE to get involved!
I am very excited about the rest of the year. We have some wonderful family and couple events planned, as well as great programs for our monthly potlucks. Some of our topics include Health and Fitness, Mocha Mom Makeovers and a Mocha Mom book discussion on “The Secret Life of Bees.” Check out our Community Corner for information on the exciting service projects we have scheduled. As part of our commitment to meeting the needs of our membership, we are asking everyone to complete a mocha mom survey. The survey will help us better understand the needs and desires of our members. This will hopefully result in higher participation and member satisfaction. As an Executive Board we have set our goals for the year and are working diligently to accomplish them before year-end. We will share more about that with you in our June newsletter (after the surveys have been completed).
This chapter belongs to US and WE will only get out of it what WE put in. Let’s not forget how we felt before finding Mocha Moms and know there are other Moms out there like us who need the support of this organization. So don’t just get what you came for and sit on the side lines. Make this organization all it can be for us, our families and other families like ours.
