Mocha Moms Twin Cities, Northwest Chapter

A Non-Profit Support Group for Stay-at-Home Mothers

Welcome to the official Mocha Moms Minnesota Web site! Mocha Moms is a support group for mothers of color who have chosen not to work full-time outside of the home in order to devote more time to their families.

We are a group of women dedicated to the positive development of our children, families, and ourselves. We support one another and build friendships through weekly playgroups, monthly meetings, moms-only gatherings and field trips.

We welcome anyone who supports our mission to join us.

PARENTING NEWS

Two Members Experience Loss
Recently Dawn Thibodeaux lost her grandmother and Daphne Edwards lost her niece (24 weeks in utero). The chapter expressed its deepest sympathy with an e-greeting card to them and their families. Our prayers are with them. If you feel compelled, please express your condolences individually.

Couples Night Out Was Huge Success
There was lots of great conversation and laughter at the Dakota Bar & Grill Friday June 18 as Mocha Moms Twin Cities gathered for its first Couples' Night Out. Mocha Dads learned just why it is that their wives are out so late whenever they bid them adieu as they ladies head off for Moms Night Out. When we get together we can't help but have fun. This night we kept the men out until about 11 PM. Participants included President Cortissa & Larry Scheiderich, Bertrene & Marcus Cage, Dawn and Rufus Thibodeaux, Donna & Malik Bush, Sheree & Michael Levy, and Junita Cathey and her husband. We wish the rest of you could've joined us for a little jazz and some awesome food.

Survey Coming Your Way
Your area coordinator will soon present you with a survey about our Mocha Moms chapter at an upcoming weekly support or potluck. Please indulge us as we need to know how and where to make improvements in order to better serve you.
